We will partner with Kiewit Engineering Group to advance engineering studies for the Willow Rock Energy Storage Center in California, aiming to become the state’s largest energy storage project.
Using its A-CAES technology, it will provide affordable, emissions-free long-duration energy storage, capable of powering 400,000 homes over eight-hour periods.
This process involves storing surplus energy from the grid, compressing air, extracting and storing heat, and dispatching it through turbines for electricity generation.
With a commitment of $250 million from Goldman Sachs Asset Management, the project aims to offset emissions equivalent to 120,000 cars annually, reflecting the growing demand for long-duration energy storage solutions.
