  • We’re excited to announce the transformation of a disused Australian cavern into one of the world’s largest compressed air energy storage facilities.
  • Our team at Hydrostor, in collaboration with Australian miner Perilya, will convert this cavern into the Silver City Energy Storage Project.
  • It will provide 200MW of energy for over eight hours to the remote mining city of Broken Hill in New South Wales, using our Advanced Compressed Air Energy Storage (A-CAES) system.
  • By harnessing off-peak or surplus energy, we’ll eliminate the need for new transmission lines and reduce reliance on diesel generators.
  • With funding from the Australian government and support from partners like Goldman Sachs, we’re confident that this project will pave the way for sustainable energy solutions.
