Description

Hydrostor (hydrostor.ca) is a global leader in Advanced Compressed Air Energy Storage (A-CAES) and the high growth energy storage sector. It is on the cusp of a significant expansion, both domestically and internationally. It presently has operations in Canada, and expects significant expansion into the US and Australia in the coming months, with further expansion internationally as a number of new projects come on line and are developed. It has a young and dynamic team, and needs a Senior Project Manager to manage project delivery.

Position:

Reporting to Vice President, Projects, the Senior Project Manager will be responsible for managing projects and supporting VP, Projects to deliver large scale capital projects in collaboration with EPC firm and project partners, Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) studies, project cost estimation, site evaluation, and operational service contracts. The successful candidate will work closely with our engineering and contractor teams to ensure project success.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage and coordinate project delivery of FEED studies and capital projects in collaboration with EPC firm and project partners;
  • Manage and administer EPC and FEED agreement(s);
  • Full project life cycle ownership. Manage the day-to-day project activities and resources;
  • Report on project success criteria results, metrics, test and deployment management activities;
  • Support planning, scheduling and direction of long term projects, including mine design;
  • Procure or manage to procure adequate resources to achieve project objectives in planned timeframes;
  • Develop and maintain project budgets and schedules;
  • Regularly communicate with and provide feedback to internal and external project stakeholders;
  • Assist in dispute, negotiation, arbitration or litigation, as needed;
  • Coordinate quality control reviews and project submissions;
  • Review designs for completeness, constructability, public safety, adherence to design criteria, and drawing appearance;
  • Organize and perform site inspections;
  • Other duties as required.

the candidate will be called upon to provide analyses to senior management team and

communicator, who can deal effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications:
  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering or applied science.
  • PMP certification is required and P.Eng would be an asset.
  • Minimum 5+ years experience with at least 2 years at project manager level with management experience.
  • Exposure to civil and process engineering expected.
  • Proven ability to achieve high performance levels in a complex fast-moving environment
  • Experience managing the construction of multiple large scale multi-faceted development projects.
  • Experience in successfully leading projects and programs to on-time, on- schedule and within budget close.
  • Experience in contract negotiation and administration
  • The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced demanding environment, with demonstrated adaptability to a high-growth culture involving shifting priorities.
  • Strong computer skills in MS Office, MS Project and CAD.
  • Hands-on, ability to identify work priorities and function with very little supervision.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Work independently and as a team player are equally important.
  • Effective interpersonal skills and a strong work ethic.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A team-oriented approach to meeting goals and objectives.
