Description

Hydrostor (hydrostor.ca) is a global leader in Advanced Compressed Air Energy Storage (A-CAES) and the high growth energy storage sector. It is on the cusp of a significant expansion, both domestically and internationally. It presently has operations in Canada, but expects significant expansion into the US and Australia in the coming months, with further expansion internationally as a number of new projects come on line and a wide range of new projects are developed. It has a young and dynamic team, and needs a Country Manager for Australia to oversee its growth and project development in this key market.

Position:

The Country Manager, Australia, will be located in Adelaide and report directly to the President & COO in an initial 12-month contract position, with the opportunity for extension or full-time employment. He/she will play a key role in representing Hydrostor in Australia, supporting the company’s ongoing market entry and growth objectives. The Australian market, and South Australia in particular, is uniquely suited to Hydrostor’s energy storage technology given the fundamental issues facing the electricity grid and resulting need for long-duration storage and synchronous generation. To help address this need, and as part of its market entry, Hydrostor is constructing a smaller-scale in-market demonstration of its TerraTM technology in South Australia, which will assist the financing of future large-scale TerraTM projects in the state and throughout Australia more broadly. Hydrostor has submitted funding applications to the South Australian Government’s Renewable Technology Fund (RTF) and ARENA’s Advancing Renewables Program in support of the in-market demonstration project. The Country Manager, Australia will manage project development efforts for the in-market demonstration, working closely with the Engineering Project Manager. He/she will coordinate with key stakeholders for the successful development, construction and operation of the first Hydrostor TerraTM A-CAES system in Australia, including engagement with government representatives at the federal and state levels, off-takers, landowners, utilities, regulators, consultants and legal advisors. In addition, the Country Manager, Australia will assist with ongoing business development efforts in Australia, including project pipeline growth and the establishment of key partnerships and business relationships. Over time he/she will also establish a local team and operational presence in South Australia, supporting the deployment of Hydrostor’s A-CAES project pipeline across the country.

  • Serve as the in-country representative for Hydrostor in Australia, in coordination with Hydrostor management team in Toronto
